Rosemary Workman - Palo Alto Assistant Coach
- BA in Kinesiology
- Master's in Kinesiology in progress
- CPR/First Aid Certification in progress
Originally from Mililani, Hawaii, Rosemary has always embraced health, wellness and fitness as a way of life.
“I am a firm believer that your body is your temple and that both physical and mental health go hand in hand,” she says, “I love the way I feel when I am active and exercising, and staying active has become an essential part of my life. I have always been a huge sports/fitness person.”
In Hawaii, Rosemary ran cross-county and earned a state medal in the 100 meter high hurdles while running track and field. Since moving to the Bay Area to pursue her bachelor’s degree, she’s continued to follow her passion for running.
“I am a big fan of 5k road racing and recently completed several Olympic distance triathlons, half marathons, and finished the Silicon Valley Marathon.”
Currently finishing her master’s in Kinesiology, Rosemary is focusing her thesis on aquatic therapy and musculoskeletal diseases.
Her experience also includes working as a physical therapy aide, teaching senior aerobics, research in orthopedic surgery, and working in adaptive physical activity settings. Recently, she had the privilege of working with the Stanford’s women’s basketball and volleyball team physician.
As a PowerVie Boot Camp Coach, Rosemary enjoys “the people interaction, teaching, and learning all in the same environment.”
“I have a lot of knowledge to offer as a coach,” she adds, “And at the same time I enjoy learning about the different dynamics of each client. As an advocate of health and fitness, I find it motivating to help others achieve their goals, see results, and make progress towards a healthy lifestyle.”
“I feel that every individual in their own circumstances has the ability to say yes to life, exercise, and healthy habits in order to improve their quality of living.”
That said, Rosemary emphasizes that we don’t wake up for boot camp for nothing.
“Work hard, see results, give nothing less than your best effort,” she encourages boot camp participants, “Always 110% even on the days you really don't feel like rolling out of bed.”
