FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

GoGirlGo! Bay Area Boot Camp Raises Funds for Mentoring Program in South Bay Schools
San Francisco, CA/Aug 30, 2006 -- Bay Area Boot Camp wants YOU to run for a great cause.

By recruiting runners of all levels from around the Bay, the company is raising funds through its 5K Fitness Training Program to sponsor the Bay Area Women's Sports Initiative's BAWSI (pronounced "bossy") Girls program in South Bay schools.

Participants in the 5K Fitness Training Program - developed by Bay Area Boot Camp’s expert coaching staff of 5K, 10K and marathon runners - will compete in the Silicon Valley Run/Walk on October 29.

100% of the proceeds from the 5K Fitness Training Program, along with a portion of the race entry fee, will benefit the BAWSI Girls program.

GoGirlGo! is a national campaign created by the Women's Sports Foundation with the purpose of getting one million girls to be physically active by 2007. BAWSI is participating in GoGirlGo! through its BAWSI Girls program, which provides 3rd-5th grade girls in at-risk communities with individual coaching and mentoring by top female college athletes in weekly after-school fitness sessions.

"Supporting the Bay Area Women's Sports Initiative is integral to our mission of enabling girls and women of all ages and fitness levels to experience the benefits of being strong and active," said Mary Beth Gonzales, co-founder and COO of Bay Area Boot Camp.

Since its founding in 2004, Bay Area Boot Camp has cultivated a partnership with BAWSI and supported the GoGirlGo! program.

"By contributing fitness expertise, woman power, and funds to BAWSI, we want to help young girls experience what our clients experience." Gonzales said, "We want people to feel strong physically so they can feel strong mentally - and carry that strength into every part of their lives."

Training Begins September 5

Participants in the 5K Fitness Training begin the 8-week program on September 5. A typical week of training combines 3-6 mile runs, calisthenics and resistance exercises, and track workouts.

"The program is designed to help people maximize their race performance and minimize their risk of injury," Gonzales explained. "We've built in gradual increases in workout intensity to give the body a chance to recover before race day."
