- AFAA Certified Personal Trainer
- CPR and AED Certified
- BS in Health Science (emphasis in Physiology and Anatomy)
Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, Kim is passionate about health education, being outside, and living an active lifestyle.
Her interest in fitness started at a young age with swimming and competitive dance. She has performed around the country at competitions, various sports venues, high schools and at the Polynesian center in Hawaii.
From dance and swimming, Kim took her passion for exercise into the health and fitness industry. Her interest in health led her gain experience in various physiological studies, including exercise physiology, physiological testing and nutrition.
After moving to Northern California, Kim began working at the University of California at San Francisco (UCSF) in the Pulmonary Laboratory, specializing in pulmonary research and clinical work.
“One of the things I enjoyed the most [at UCSF] was performing maximal oxygen uptake tests on all ranges of fitness levels and educating individuals about health and wellness.”
Working in the hospital system has given Kim a wide-range of well-rounded experience in health.
“Continuing my education in health and fitness is important to me, as there are new discoveries every day,” she says.
Kim is also passionate about the outdoors and enjoys scuba diving, kayaking, salsa dancing, rollerblading, hiking, snowboarding, and rock climbing. She’s always open for a new adventure.
As an AlaVie coach, Kim's goal is "to teach, encourage, and motivate others to incorporate active and healthy choices into their daily lives. With knowledge, people can empower and challenge themselves to go to the next level."
