Jenifer Aguirre - Willow Glen Head Coach
- ACE & ACSM Certified Personal Trainer
- Certified Level 3 US Rowing Coach
- American Red Cross Emergency Response Technician
- BA in Sociology
Jenifer has always been an avid outdoors person and competitive athlete. She played basketball and ran track in high school. Upon entering college at UC Santa Barbara, she tried out for the rowing team, made it as a walk-on “and never looked back.”
Jenifer rowed all 4 years at UCSB, racing for shirts and medals along the way, “One of the biggest highlights was a medal at Nationals in the Lightweight 8+.”
She continues to row as a masters rower and has won medals at the Head of the Charles, Masters World and National competitions. While in college, Jenifer began working at a local health club and eventually became a personal trainer, aerobics director and assistant manager. She stayed on for one year, after graduating from UCSB with a BA in Sociology, but decided she wanted to move back to northern California.
In 1998, Jenifer became certified as a personal trainer through the American Council on Exercise and the American College of Sports Medicine and worked for 6 years as a personal trainer in Los Gatos. She also continued with her passion for rowing as a masters competitive rower and in 2001 began head coaching high school rowing for a novice women’s team.
Jenifer keeps fit by rowing, weight lifting, running and hiking in the Sierras, “It’s very important to lead an active lifestyle by example, especially as a role model for young high school women.”
In 2006, she decided to get back into the personal training field by joining AlaVie Fitness. Her passion and inspiration come from helping others achieve goals they didn’t think were possible - whether it be in the gym, on the water, or in life.
