Debbie Rodriguez
Morgan Hill Managing Head Coach
Once Debbie Rodriguez started exercising in her 20s, she "loved the changes I experienced, both mentally and physically, and my hope is to pass that on to others."
"On rainy days when I was forced to be on a treadmill in the gym, I would watch the aerobic classes. I decided to try one. I loved it so much that at the age of 30, I became AFFA certified and have been teaching for the past 14 years."
In addition to her aerobics classes, Debbie has competed in a triathlon, run two half marathons and many 10Ks in the past five years. To date, her greatest physical challenge involved hiking from the north rim of the Grand Canyon to the bottom and back.
"Down took eight hours and up took two days. We were hiking in 120 degree weather and up was nothing but up. I dealt with it by knowing I had trained for it and that when I reached the top I would feel such a huge sense of accomplishment."
For Debbie, exercise is a form of therapy.
"It's one of the few things we, especially women, can do for ourselves. The rewards of leading a healthy lifestyle go far beyond the physical."
